Schools offering lessons in emotions, social development

Additional comments, on the website, voiced concern that children will miss out on academics or that boys will become more “feminized” as a result of teaching them about their emotions and how to deal with them.  Taking time to still the mind and attend to our breathing has been proven to help sharpen one’s attention skills in general.

And, in my humble opinion, getting “in touch” a bit more with our feminine sides might not be a bad idea. The abundance of anger, fighting and general violence on television, in video and computer games, at the movies and in our much-beloved hockey sometimes seems pretty “over the top” to me.

Even the gentleman at our favourite breakfast spot in Hamilton were astounded by the news that a dealership in Florida was giving away a voucher for a free AK-47 assault rifle with every truck purchase! It was nice to see the guys’ sensitive sides!
