DAWN ASSOCIATES contracts only with experienced counselors and therapists who are able to focus on the unique needs of our clients. Our counselors utilize an integrative framework and a focused approach to treatment. They have an in-depth knowledge of the community resources available in their geographical area.
Our roster includes counselors with specialized expertise, such as EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Art Therapy, to meet the needs of more complex client problems. Career and educational counselling is available as well. We require that our Counselors be accredited by their professional associations.

Dawn Zivanovich, founder of DAWN ASSOCIATES, is an experienced clinical Social Worker, EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Associate Certified Coach. She offers Consultation and Supervision to EMDR Therapists working towards EMDR Certification. As well, she consults with Social Workers and Psychotherapists regarding their clinical cases and in starting up and establishing their private business practices..
Her sensitivity and knowledge has been helpful to clients of all ages. Her dedication to continuing education and skill-building has enabled her to carry on with her own journey of personal and professional growth. She is an Internationally Certified Coach.
Dawn’s expertise ranges from working with individuals, couples, teenagers and seniors with a wide variety of issues and challenges.
Counselling methods include CBT, elements of Positive Psychology, Non-Violent Communication, visual imagery, play and art with children and EMDR Therapy with all ages.
She has been actively involved in private practice for over 25 years.
Dawn provides online and telephone counselling as well as in-person therapy and life coaching in Hamilton and Caledonia.
Leon Hudecki, MSW, RSW
Leon Hudecki has had extensive experience working with individuals, and with marriage and family relationships. He is certified in Family Mediation and Critical Incident Stress Management. Leon worked on a Police Crisis Intervention Team and with both the Haldimand and Norfolk Children’s Aid Societies as a Child Abuse Specialist and Supervisor of Services. For many years, he worked in the community college system in both Counselling and Disability Services where he provided Psycho-educational Assessments. He assisted students in developing learning strategies to assist with career and life goals. Leon has taught in Human Services Programs and directed and participated in numerous Labour Adjustment Programs, assisting those affected to link to employment opportunities. Currently, Leon’s main focus is in working with Indigenous adults and teens on the Six Nations Reserve in Ohsweken, Ontario
Mikela Ronning-Philip, M.A.
Mikela Ronning-Philip has been in private practice engaging in psychodynamic, humanistic and expressive arts methodologies. As well, she has managed several Employee Assistance Programs. Counselling offered can be for short-term or longer-term counselling with an emphasis on cognitive and behavioural change, and individual communication skills
Ms. Ronning-Philip has extensive experience in working with adults and adolescents, in the areas of bereavement, existential counselling and post traumatic stress counselling, as well as involvement in career and continuing education counselling. Group experiences have included self- esteem seminars and assertiveness training workshops. Ms. Ronning-Philip is located in Dundas.
